New Moon in Leo
As the New Moon in Leo approaches, it is a good time to contemplate which seeds you want to sow. What do you envision to realise in the coming month? Leo embodies passion, leadership, a strong ego, a love for the spotlights, creative expression. So this time is probably a good time to spark up your inner fire, start some creative process, and set the stage to claim the space on the throne you desire.
The obvious Tarot cards that come to mind in relation to Leo are the regal Arcana’s of the Emperor and the Empress. They represent the masculine and feminine aspects of the archetypal Ruler. The Emperor is the father of the Tarot: experienced and strong, he doesn’t like to get his authority challenged and easily gets stuck in his ways and traditions. The Empress is the mother, nurturing and creating is her nature. She exudes beauty and femininity with the confidence that is inherent to a woman who gave birth or is about to (in the widest sense).
A third card that’s clearly related to the Leo- archetype is Strength. In this Arcana, the lion gets tamed it seems, by a powerful female. The card represents willpower, strength of character, discipline. As strong as the inner fire might be, the mind is capable of guiding that fire in the good direction. Our passions might inspire and drive us, but we must not let them consume us. Strength advises us to stay on top of our desires instead of having them rule us. Ride the lightning, don’t let the lightning ride you.
Have the strength and the discipline to be driven by passion yet not get burnt by desire or become arrogant and self-absorbed.
Now how does all this apply to your life, in light of the new moon in Leo? The Emperor and Empress as well as Strength are aspects in yourself that you can contemplate this week. Maybe it is time to be your own parent, to be your own greatest fan, the supporter that will never let you down and will keep rooting for you, no matter what. You deserve to be loved, and the first person who should love you unconditionally, is you. No longer look for external sources to boost your confidence! Be confident and believe in yourself. Trust that you have what it takes to realise your vision, as long as you are passionate about it. When you radiate confidence and truly believe in yourself, you have already won half of the game! Have the strength and the discipline to be driven by passion yet not get burnt by desire or become arrogant and self-absorbed.
The mantra of this week’s meditation : I confidently work towards creating my vision. I am inspired by my desires, not ruled by them. I am the ruler of my world and I humbly love and nurture myself.
