Life has been a whirl of experiences recently, leaving me little or no time to sit and write. Between time with Rumi, our two year old and time tending to the garden I do my best to keep the house clean and tidy, and to take a shower now and then 😁
I admit that my self care and spiritual practice have been sorely neglected of late, and I have barely read any Tarot at all. It’s a classic case of the vicious cycle that depletes me more and more of my energy. Thank Goddess for my dear hubby who takes Rumi out for long walks and cooks almost every night (amongst many other things he does), because those moments that I can spend by myself are oh so precious. Usually I take naps in those moments but sometimes I spend the time blogging, doing TikTok, or figuring out another side hustle. Like affiliate sales. I heard about this many years ago, did a little bit of reading on the subject and actually did sign up for the Amazon affiliate program. I never did the work though, overwhelmed by the marketing aspect of the matter. I didn’t have a website, didn’t know what my niche could be… So nothing came of it.
But recently some TikTok video about affiliate links caught my attention and once again I am trying to figure out how I could make this work for me. I have an actual website now, I could do Tarot deck reviews and add links to Amazon or Bol.com. Or something. Now that we made the choice to live in a small Bulgarian village, closer to nature and ourselves, with less jammed agenda’s and stress, we are on the lookout for sources of income that fit our lifestyle, i.e. don’t consume all our time nor our souls. But somehow I feel overwhelmed again. Generating a passive income is not as easy as they make it sound, or am I just a complete dummy?
And on the subject of side hustles, how about the Amazon kindle book sales? I published a poetry bundle (my alias is Jolene d’Arcy, inspired by my middle names) and sold exactly zero so far. Has anyone got any experience with affiliate links? Or what side hustle worked for you and gave you a substantial passive income? Let me know in the comments what your experiences are, maybe you can even give me some advice.
